Who We Are
My name is Kayd Kelly, and the Owner of K-Twist Custom Bowstrings.
I’m 27 years old, and most importantly a warrior for the one most high. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and bowhunting big game has been the center of my life for as long as I can remember.
Not casual hunting.
Not “once a year if it works out.”
I’m talking about the kind that changes you.
My favorite hunts are DIY backcountry elk hunts — steep country, long hikes, heavy packs, thin air. The kind of hunts where your gear either performs or it costs you an opportunity you may never get back.
That’s where my obsession with equipment started.
I love tough, precise, accurate, fast setups. I love gear that holds tune. Gear that performs when it’s hot, cold, wet, or when you’re five miles from the truck and everything has to be right.
Because in the backcountry, there’s no second chance.
Why Bow Strings?
Five years ago, I started building bow strings — not as a business plan, but as a craft.
I wanted to understand my setup at a deeper level. I wanted to fine-tune performance. I wanted to connect with other serious hunters and guys in the industry who cared about details the way I did.
It wasn’t about money. It was about mastery.
Over time, that craft turned into something more. Word spread. Setups got faster. Serving got tighter. Stability improved. Repeatability became the standard.
What started as networking and honing a skill has grown into something scalable — but the mindset hasn’t changed.
Every set I build is treated like it’s going on my own bow for a September elk hunt.

I’m a devout Christian, and my faith is the foundation behind every decision I make.
